I am Steve Milligan GIFireE MIFSM DipFD, director of SPM Fire Safety Consultancy Ltd covering East Anglia including Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and North Essex areas.
​I have 26 years experience within a local fire authority as a Firefighter through to Watch Manager (station officer), retiring in 2021
​I am a member of the Fire Protection Association (FPA), the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (MIFSM) and the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE), passing my graduates exam in 2015.
I am also a Tier 3 Nationally Accredited Fire Risk Assessor as approved by the Institute of Fire Safety managers and have passed my Diploma in fire doors with FDIS (Unfortunately, I am Not a fire door inspector)

I offer a friendly, impartial, high quality, practical and professional fire risk assessment service and support.
​I can also visit your workplace to deliver Fire Warden/Marshall training or Fire Safety Awareness training
If required I can also complete your Fire Safety Policy, Emergency Action Plan and any PEEP/GEEP (Additional cost for these services)
I offer a package price for clients who have a Fire Risk Assessment and Training on the same day, at the same site.
For buildings that are not completed or are being refurbished, I can offer a fire guidance report that will advise what systems and procedures should be in place on completion of works.
​A full fire risk assessment will still need to be completed when the premise is occupied.

All non-domestic premises, including the common parts of blocks of flats and houses in multiple occupation (HMO’s) are undertaken to comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) order 2005 (RRFSO).

I can also ensure that your fire prevention policy and procedures are current, and effective for your premise or place of work.
You can rest assured of absolute independent advice from an expert assessor.
You will receive a full electronic written report of my inspection detailing the recommendations, with a summary of all the fire safety arrangements that are required to satisfy current legislation and guidance, all of which assist in ​improving the fire safety for the premises visited and all relevant persons.
