Fire Risk Assessment

A thorough, non-invasive on-site assessment tailored to your premises. You get an electronic report with an overall risk level and an action plan graded High, Medium and Low. Steve also adds a For Information section of advisory points, and follow-up advice by phone or email is free.

How it works

From first call to finished report, and beyond

Your report isn’t the end of the job. Steve stays on hand while you put the recommendations in place, and he’s there when it’s time to review.

  1. 01 · BOOK

    Arrange a visit

    Visits are usually planned 3 to 4 weeks ahead. Ask about earlier slots from cancellations.

  2. 02 · ASSESS

    Site visit

    About 1 to 2 hours for small premises, 3 to 4 hours or more for larger sites. Steve sends a short checklist first to save time on the day.

  3. 03 · REPORT

    Graded action plan

    An electronic report with your risk level and recommendations graded High, Medium or Low, normally within 7 working days.

  4. 04 · SUPPORTOngoing

    Advice whenever you need it

    Questions while you work through the recommendations? Call or email Steve at no extra cost, for as long as you need.

  5. 05 · REVIEWOngoing

    There when things change

    Your report sets a review date, usually a year on. Steve can reassess after changes to your building, how it’s used or who uses it, and check completed works.

Do I need a fire risk assessment?

Almost certainly, if you are responsible for non-domestic premises. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires one for nearly all of them, including the common parts of flats and HMOs. Single private homes are not covered.

How long does the site visit take?

Small sites such as flats, HMOs and small businesses take about 1 to 2 hours. Larger premises can take 3 to 4 hours or more.

How quickly will I get my report?

Normally within 7 working days of the visit, often sooner.

Do I pay upfront?

No. For assessments and guidance you are invoiced when your report is ready. Training needs a 50% deposit five days before the session.
